Syed Jamal Mustafa

Psychiatrist

Dr. Syed Jamal Mustafa, has been with the Puget sound Psychiatric Center since 2002. He specializes in psychiatric illnesses effecting all age groups, (children, adolescents, adults and geriatric), and sees patients in the PSPC out-patient clinic in Bothell. He subscribes to the medical model of a team approach, and practices evidence based medicine. He encourages and emphasizes that all patients actively participate in their individual therapies.

Syed Kamal Mustafa

Psychiatrist

Dr. Syed Kamal Mustafa is a Professor of Psychiatry at PSPC. He specializes in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Kamal Mustafa completed his psychiatry residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington DC. He has over 20 years of participation in supervision of medical students.

Max Hines

Psychologist

Dr. Max Hines is a licensed psychologist in practice for 35+ years first in Minnesota and now in Washington. He works with adolescents (16 and up) and adults for treatment of anxiety, depression, fear of flying, hoarding, insomnia, panic, phobias, PTSD, and relationship difficulties.  His specialties are EMDR for trauma and behavioral (non-drug) treatment for insomnia disorder. He is the principal researcher in a clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of 4 treatment approaches for adults with insomnia disorder.

Marcus Nemuth

Psychiatrist

Dr. Marcus Nemuth graduated from Medical College of Virginia with M.D. and graduate degrees in Toxicology and Pharmacology. Dr. Nemuth has expertise in diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illness in patients in early adolescent, adult, and geriatric stages of life. He completed Residency Training at University of Washington School of Medicine and Behavioral Sciences, and what followed was him being awarded Best Clinical Resident.

 Dee Dee Vasquez

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Dee Dee Vasquez is a graduate of Seattle University’s Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion Program, and is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having survived her own various traumas, she specializes in the treatment of trauma related symptoms, as well as treating a wide array of mental health concerns and conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, depression, psychosis and attentional deficits.

Erin Paavola

Ph.D Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Erin Paavola, Ph.D., L.M.H.C. has counseling experience working with adults and children. She also works with parents in order for them to gain greater insight into their stress, parenting style, and behaviors, so that they gain greater sensitivity to their children's needs. Erin holds a Bachelors in Psychology, Masters of Arts in Community Counseling, and PhD in Community Psychology. Erin utilizes a talk therapy approach that is based in supportive, Adlerian and cognitive- behavioral orientations.

Kristin A. Hummel

Licensed Mental Health Counsler

Kristin A. Hummel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of expierence, and a Master’s degree from the Pacific University School of Professional Psychology. For the last 10 years, she provided a wide variety of behavioral health interventions for a non-profit medical clinic. She sees adults and adolescents 15 and over and is a supportive, patient-centered practitioner. Her primary focuses are  depression, anxiety, chronic pain, individual relationships and PTSD.
