The Puget Sound is an inland marine complex  of waterways from the Pacific Ocean.

It is home to the Seattle metropolitan area                                                                              with a population of approximately 4,000,000 people.

Puget Sound was named after Peter Puget, a lieutenant in George Vancouver’s 1792 expedition of the Pacific North West.

Modern day Seattle was founded at the site of the village of Duwamp. Seattle is named after Chief Sealth of the Duwamish and Suqwamish tribes.

The goal of the Puget Sound Psychiatric Center is to provide comprehensive professional psychiatric services to the Puget Sound area.

Currently we are providing mental health care to Seattle’s East and North-East; and Everett’s South and South East areas, at conveniently located offices in Bothell and Monroe.

The Puget sound is home to its resident orca whales, and sometimes a host to the transient orca’s, which come through our waters.

These magnificent creatures have three family groups called pods, the J, K and L pods.

J pod has 26 resident orcas, K pod is the smallest with only 19 members, whereas L pod is the largest with 43 residents orcas..

The Puget Sound Psychiatric Center has chosen the symbol of the two Orcas

engaged  in the Yin-Yang dance of harmony. It symbolizes our deep roots

in the community, the value of family and kinship; our commitment to serve

our areas and the endeavor to bring peace and harmony to individuals and families.

Our emblem in its backdrop of the deep blue ocean, symbolizes the depth and mysteries

of the untapped mind and spirit; the might of orcas symbolize our resolve to tackle any and all hurdles one at a time, as they come.
